June 24 Rally held on the Steps of the Capitol
Older Michiganians Day 2009 was a rally on the steps of the State Capitol
in Lansing on June 24, 2009 to advocate on issues and programs that
affect older Michigan residents. Approximately 600 senior advocates
from around Michigan attended the rally and discussed the platform of
recommendations for the Governor and Michigan Legislature to follow.

The platform contained three basic strategies to help Michigan prioritize
state support for older adults in a way that best meets the challenges and
opportunities presented by the economic climate and aging of the
population.
